"Working with Maestro Nicotra is a fascinating and fantastic experience! I recently audited a workshop held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in association with the wonderful Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and Ennio Nicotra was the conductor's coach.

There was so much powerful information, any serious student could have learned an incredible amount throughout the week.

Really put the struggle between clarity and ambiguity into perspective for me as a conductor.

Now, anytime I consider a gesture, one of the important questions I ask myself is, "what could this provoke and how does that provocation relate to the sound and character I am interested in conveying?".

I very much look forward to working with Ennio Nicotra in the future.

...on a personal note, I would like to add that keeping the legacy of this great teacher alive is an enormous challenge to us mere mortals. Musin was a wonderful and hugely humble man, dedicated to the growth of his devoted students. The studies and the friendship I enjoyed with him will remain with me as some of the most important aspects of my life. I feel it is of enormous credit to Ennio Nicotra that he manages to recreate this bond with his students and work with the most probing of expertise, whilst still keeping the humanity and humour we all enjoyed in the classes of Ilya Musin...
