ORCHESTRA ANTONIO VIVALDI
The course taught by M° ENNIO NICOTRA in Milan, is aimed at all those young conductors and musicians in general who wish to develop and refine their conducting technique.
The course teaches practical and theoretical competencies that are not given by the traditional courses. The study program is in fact based on the “Musin system”: Maestro Nicotra was student and assistant of Ilya Musin – legendary Russian teacher (1904-1999) – who developed a unique didactical method, that many consider the equivalent of the Stanislavskij method for acting technique studies.
Classes make focus on the analysis and the improvement of the conducting techniques, through an exercise with a piano duo; the semantics of the gesture, the communicational aspects and the interaction with the ensemble will be analyzed.
The repertoire is individual. It is agreed with Maestro Nicotra based on the level of the student.
The course is carried out in 8 meetings: the first 7 are organized in 21 individual lessons, the last in Rome with a final public concert with the Symphony Orchestra "City of Rome". One or more students who will have distinguished themselves will be recommended to the Antonio Vivaldi Orchestra for a concert in the '24 -'25 season
